Heo Gyun Heo Nanseolheon Memorial Park

This is the place where King Cheoljong came to Joongjeon's house and saw the well in the yard of his father-in-law.
The memories of fear and helplessness from his childhood reappeared, forcing him to become limp and feeling down for some time.
This scene was filmed in the city of Gangneung, located on the east coast of the country.
'The well was temporarily constructed for the drama, so you might not see it there when you actually visit in person.
This park, consisting of a former residence, a memorial hall and a traditional tea house, is actually to commemorate Heo Gyun, the author of the first Korean novel written in Korean in the Joseon Dynasty Hong Gildong Jeonwhich translates to 'The Story Of Hong Gildong'.
The park also commemorates Heo Gyun's sister Heo Cho-hee (nom de plume: Heo Nanseolheon), who is considered one of the best female writers from the Joseon Dynasty.
Gungnamji Pond

This is one of the key places in the Korean drama where Bong-hwan fell into the pool and came to the Joseon Dynasty was filmed here!
You can really feel the whole place when you visit in person.
Historically, the pond in the drama must be Chundangji Lake at the Changgyeong Palace in Seoul, but filming took place in Buyeo.
Another interesting thing about Gungnamji is that it is the earliest artificial lotus pond according to Korea's historical records from the Baekje era.

This is where Queen Cheorin plays neolttwigi (널뛰기), or a traditional jumping game similar to see-sawing at her home.
This filming location of Mr. Queen is also located in Gangneung and is a traditional cultural park and museum.
Seongyojang is also Korea's National Folk Cultural Asset No. 5 and is often used for filming historic dramas including Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo.
Gwanghanruwon Garden

This is where Bong-hwan first found out that his precious thing was gone after travelling back to the ancient times.
This filming location, located in the city of Namwon, is also where Bong-hwan first met Cheoljong who was reading the little yellow book.
Gwanghanruwon Garden is especially beautiful in summer when surrounded by green trees.
This is also where Hye-jun (Park Bo-gum) in Record Of Youthwent to film the historical drama.
Mungyeongsaejae Provincial Park

Most of the court scenes in the drama were filmed at this provincial park located in the city of Mungyeong.
This is also where the imperial kitchen was filmed.
From the sources we found, this K-drama started filming in August 2020, so we could see lots of green trees in the background as well.
Byeongsan Seowon
병산서원

This is the night where King Cheoljong got into a fierce fight with the uninvited cousin.
The scenery of the place is just breathtaking with the mountain ridges on one side and traditional buildings on the other.
This Mr. Queenfilming location is Byeongsan Seowon in the city of Andong.
Seowon refers to Korean Neo-Confucian Academies and Byeongsan Seowon is one of the nine seowon in Korea on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
When we visited in person last year, the area overlooking the mountains where they enjoyed food and drinks did not permit entrance but it's still worth taking a photo and enjoying the overall vibe of the seowon.
Andong Gunja Village
안동 군자마을 (오천유적지)

The colours and angles of this scene make this K-drama feel like a romance.
But when So-yong's affectionate feelings are felt by Bong-hwan in her body, he takes the flower bouquet from King Cheoljong and starts beating her body with it. And... the drama is back to its comedic self.
This village was established by the Gwangsan Kim clan around 500 to 600 years ago.
Gunja Village is also located in Andong, but it's about a 3.5-hour bus ride or a 1-hour car ride from Byeongsan Seowon.
Gyeongsangnamdo Arboretum

The scenic place where Queen Cheorin and King Cheoljong go on a horse ride into the mountains and forest together is Gyeongsangnamdo Arboretum.
Jishinjeong
지신정
Address: 경상남도 진주시 지수면 승산리 260
The scene where King Cheoljong and Queen Cheorin get off the horse and hold hands together in front of Jishinjeong was incredibly beautiful.
Of course, King Cheoljong immediately gets beaten by Bong-hwan in the next second.
Jishinjeong is just a 20-minute drive from the Gyeongsangnamdo Arboretum.
In autumn, the landscape of the place gets covered by beautiful red foliage, it is considered one of the most stunning foliage spots in Korea.
