Hide a Chat on Telegram by archiving it
Step 1: Before you archive a chat, make sure it is muted. This is because every time you receive a new message on an unmuted chat, it will pop out of the Archive folder and appear on your main chat screen. To mute a chat, simply hit the ellipses at the top right corner of the chat window and select Mute.
Step 2: Once the chat has been muted, go back to the main screen and long-press the chat to select it. If you want to archive chats, tap them once to select them.
